Specialties
at Piranha

If you already have an open water certification, you can expand your skills with our wide range of specialties, from theoretical courses to instructor preparation. Some specialties are required for diving trips and can often be completed during the weekend.

What you could do after your open water course:

  • Deep Diving - Learn to dive, and plan dives up to 40 metres deep.

  • Altitude Diving - Say you are going to dive in the mountains, what do you need to consider?

  • Wave, Tides & Currents - Learn to dive with currents or tides. We often do this in Zeeland.

  • Enriched Air Nitrox - Diving with a higher percentage of oxygen? How does this affect your dive planning? Very useful for extending your bottom time.

  • Perfect Bouyancy - Practice with your bouyancy so you are more comfortable in the water.

  • Night & Limited Visibility - Diving at night? How cool is that, suddenly there is other marine life active. You'll also learn how to handle a light at night.

  • Stress & Rescue - Suppose something happens underwater, how do you deal with it? For this course you also need a first aid certificate, which you can also get with us.

  • Science of Diving - We teach this every winter in a series of 5 lectures, you will learn a lot of background information about diving.

  • Dry suit - Stay warm and dry underwater with a dry suit.

  • Equipment Techniques - What maintenance should I do on my equipment and how does it all work?

  • Photo & Video - Capturing your underwater adventures, what do you need and how do you take that perfect picture?

  • Ecology Specialties - Learn about marine life, or how to recognise coral species.
